Job Description
This individual contributor position is responsible for creating contracts by leveraging a broad knowledge purchase agreements and provisions; aligning agreements with sourcing strategies; collaborating with stakeholders to translate business requirements into contract specifications; understanding the short and long-term impacts and risks associated with agreements and business decisions; supporting the internal stakeholder process throughout the contract lifecycle; and preparing written contracts, reports, and presentations for diverse stakeholders under the guidance of more senior team members. This position is also responsible for conducting contract cost and spend analyses; conducting contract negotiations both verbally and in writing; managing small projects or portions of larger projects; contributing to the reporting and measurement of SLAs and metrics; participating in the supplier selection and management process; and assisting in the evaluation of supplier proposals for selection.
Essential Responsibilities
- Creates contracts by leveraging a knowledge base of purchase agreements and provisions; determining which agreements are best aligned with sourcing strategies; proactively seeking information on precedents related to context, supplier and/or industry in order to optimize results; collaborating with SMEs and stakeholders to translate business requirements into contract specifications; maintaining relationships and agreements with suppliers;supporting the internal stakeholder process throughout the contract lifecycle; adhering to all purchasing policies; evaluating performance data and recommending corrective action; understanding the short and long-term impacts and risks associated with agreements and business decisions; and preparing written contracts, reports and presentations for diverse stakeholders under the guidance of more senior teammembers.
- Participates in contract negotiations both verbally and in writing under the guidance of more senior team members by applying an understanding of negotiation strategies and methodologies; and adjusting negotiations based on key issues, parties, interests and objective
- Manages small projects or portions of larger projects by contributing to the identification of objectives, deliverables, timelines, and general project needs; bringing issues and concerns immediately to the attention of managers and stakeholders as appropriate; and contributing to project quality review and evaluation for own area of responsibility.
- Contributes to the reporting and measurement of SLAs and metrics by performing analyses and reporting on individual and team delivery against SLA criteria; proactively identifying and escalating issues that could impact SLA performance; and meeting or exceeding SLA requirements on an ongoing basis.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Contract Administration, Procurement, Business, Finance, or a directly related field AND minimum three (3) years experience in contract management, strategic sourcing, supply chain management, or a directly related field.
- Additional 3 years equivalent work experiencefor a total of 6 years in a directly related field may be substituted for the degree requirement.
- One (1) year experience in contract management or procurement.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree may be substituted for the work experience requirements.
- One (1) year of experience in healthcare or another heavily regulated industry (e.g., Banking).
- One (1) year of experience in project management.
- One (1) year of experience negotiating contracts for the procurement of goods and services.
- One (1) year experience working with contract management software.
