Architect Lead

Job Description

If you like being the security mastermind behind national scale, business critical and high visibility projects, then this is the job for you! Your typical day will range from performing security design reviews of critical applications and systems (such as patient record systems, payment systems, IoT devices, APIs, mobile applications, ML/AI systems…you name it!) which has a direct impact on people’s lives to designing complex security capabilities as well as authoring artifacts such as guardrails, design patterns etc. which help scale security capabilities nationally. This is a business critical role where you will gain visibility across the whole organization in this role and would have the opportunity to work with architects, engineers, product owners and executives.                                                                      

Essential Responsibilities                                          

• Performs security architecture reviews for large scale, high-impact technology solutions.
• Leads the development of solution architecture, roadmaps, implementation plans for new security capabilities.
• Collaborates with project teams, business teams to explain security risks and mitigation strategies with a focus on enabling the business using a risk-based approach.
• Coordinates with stakeholders to facilitate continuous development and drive changes to security architecture practices. 
• Identifies the need, develops, and establishes re-usable and scalable security artifacts such as guardrails, design patterns, reference architectures etc.
• Provides expertise and shares an understanding of current capability gaps and market & industry standards that can be used to set future direction.                                                                   

Minimum Qualifications                                                                          

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, CIS, Engineering, Business, or related technical field and Minimum eight (8) years IT experience delivering technical solutions. Additional equivalent three (3) years work experience for a total of eleven (11) years may be substituted for the degree requirement.
• Minimum four (4) years working on projects related to IT architecture.
• 5+ years of experience in Information Security and 3+ years of experience as a security architect
• Broad Information Security experience with depth in one or more of the following areas: Cryptography, Cloud Security, Product/Application Security, Infrastructure Security, Network Security, ML/AI Security, IoT security

Additional Requirements            

• Have experience collaborating with a wide variety of information security teams (e.g., compliance teams, security operations center, security assurance, red team etc.)
• Have experience collaborating with various roles on a product team (e.g., product architects, engineering leaders, product owners and executives)
• Possesses fact and data driven communication and writing skills and the ability to present findings verbally and in reports to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Demonstrated leadership and project management skills.
• Requires minimal supervision and is outcome driven.                                                                                 

Preferred Qualifications                                                                          

• CISSP, SANS certifications (such as GSEC), SABSA certifications
• Healthcare industry experience.
