Consultant Automation Tester
Job Description
This Senior leadership position is responsible for guiding and influencing the development of a formal Global Mobile Quality Services Framework and for supporting the development of software quality assurance test strategies. This position is for overseeing both Functional and technical aspects related to the testing and programming efforts for Mobile app testing and automation. This role provides code review and oversees automation best practices while continuously improving processes.
Essential Responsibilities

- Provides overall direction and takes accountability for the delivery of quality assurance (QA) test strategies for IT initiatives across enterprise QA domains by reviewing and providing second-level sign off on testing scope and approach for large-scale or high impact initiatives.
- Reviews and signs off on testing scope and approach, and partners with cross-functional IT and business stakeholders to review and approve the overall testing approach.
- Develops a network of partnerships with cross-functional enterprise IT and business leaders to support the review and approval of testing approaches.
- Conducts final review and approval of functional specifications to ensure business and architectural requirements are testable.
- Oversees the review and validation of testable business processes, test data, and test environment requirements.
- Develops guidelines and best practices to ensure test plans and timelines are aligned with project/program milestones.
- Oversees and addresses critical issues, dependencies, and risks related to testing.
- Collaborates with cross-functional IT teams to gain buy-in and approval of test plans, and tracks quality metrics across testing phases (e.g., SIT, Performance, UAT, Automation, Production, Validation).
- Ensures quality metrics are tracked across testing phases (e.g., SIT, Performance, UAT, Automation, Production, Validation).
- Oversees and ensures the development of test scenarios and execution of test cases meet established standards across all testing phases (e.g., SIT, Performance, UAT, Automation, Production, Validation).
- Manages and oversees the adherence of entry and exit criteria according to Kaiser testing standards.
- Publishes and reviews scheduled reports (e.g., test execution, defects, ad-hoc reports) with IT and business leadership.
- Oversees quality assurance projects and initiatives by reviewing staffing needs and overall work plans.
- Provides second-level authorization for exceptions and waivers, and meets with leadership to address contingency plans, as appropriate.
- Reviews and integrates business processes to achieve business results and appropriate solutions for customers.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, CIS, or related field and minimum 10 years experience in SQA, software testing, or related field.In lieu of Bachelor’s Degree additional 3 years related work experience for a total of 13 years will be required
- Minimum 10 years experience working in a techno functional role as and proficient in both manual and automation testing of which 3 years should be on mobile and 10 years on mobile/browser testing and atleast 2 years on API testing
- Minimum 5 year in an lead role working with technical teams, cross functional teams
- Review of Test cases from a functional test coverage and Technical code from test coverage and technical perspective
- Two (2) years experience writing technical documentation in a software testing or quality assurance environment.
- Minimum of 1 year in Mock Services testing
- Minimum 10 years of experience in Java other scripting languages of which atleast 7 years in Java
- Minimum 7 years of experience in Testing framework such as TestNG/Junit of which TestNG should be 5 years
- Minimum of 10 years in Selenium/Appium of which atleast 3 years of working on appium
- Strong experience with git.
- 5 years of experience of running tests on cloud solutions of which atleast 2 years should be for mobile clouds solutions
- Serve as a mentor for junior, intermediate engineers and Subject matter expert for the techno functional area in Mobile Testing.
- Minimum 2 years of API testing using Postman
Preferred Qualifications
- Coming with ideas to improve the scope of automation
- Two (2) years experience working in healthcare testing environments.
- Having one(1) year experience of any Windows based application testing
- Four (4) years experience in a leadership role of a large matrixed organization.
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, CIS, or related field or equivalent experience.
- Quality Assurance Institute (QAI) or American Society for Quality (ASQ) or similar certification.
