Job Description

This senior level individual contributor is primarily responsible for managing the development of the IT strategic technology direction for the open source domain, as well as for executing the architecture process for open source technology solutions to enable business and IT stakeholder strategic goals. This contributor should fully understand the EA discipline and have extensive expertise in open source management, security and DevOps tools (e.g., Tidelift, SoftwareAG, API consumption and testing, Git, GitHub, Docker, Kubernetes, open source licensing, open source vulnurability remediation, open source contribution processes, open source package versioning, dependency management such as Maven or Gradle, programming languages such as Python or Java).                                                                      

Essential Responsibilities

  • Defines and promotes open source standards, guidelines, and statements of direction which enable business and IT stakeholder goals.                                              
  • Reviews, updates, and governs open source standards and strategy in Tidelift. Have a Solid understanding of OpenSource Policies, licenses, vulenarabilites and wired with lates news regarding NIST National Vulnerability Database                                                         
  • Collaborates closely with engineering teams and supports their use and adoption of Tidelift, including representing KP for enhancement requests and defects with Tidelift.                                            
  • Provides technical troubleshooting and research on any issues with the Tidelift integration with DevSecOps tools and ATLAS (SoftwareAG).                                                       
  • Collaborates closely with KP security teams (TRO) to ensure open source standards include recommendations to avoid vulurable open source libraries.                                                       
  • Collaborates with Legal on acceptable open source license standards.                                                   
  • Manages  open source contribution processes.                                                
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to develop a comprehensive open source strategy that is aligned with KP’s business objectives and security requirements.                                                
  • Deliver key reference architectures using proven technology standards and solutions              
  • Develop and maintain open source technology roadmaps to deliver services and solutions that are aligned with required business capabilities                                                    
  • Partner on investment proposals to ensure alignment with enterprise strategy, standards and solutions.  Deliver a complete assessment and recommendation highlghting key architecturally significant items and potential risks.                                                        
  • Evalute emerging open source technologies to identify innovation opportunities                                
  • Creates architectures for large scale enterprise technology solutions by collaborating with other architects to develop the target state.                                                           
  • Collaborates with project teams and business users to create architecture artifacts (for example, logical, conceptual, physical) to guide detailed design.                                               
  • Champions and influences adoption of new high-impact technologies by researching technical trends and developments.                                                      
  • Collaborates with stakeholders to determine the selection of open source technologies.                    
  • Collaborates with IT and business leadership and participates in making decisions regarding new technology.                                                        
  • Demonstrates a full understanding of the architecture best practices and educates others throughout the organization on the function of architecture methodologies, governance, and standards by serving as a subject matter expert across business and/or IT teams, and presenting to internal and external audiences.                                                      
  • Develops and communicates reports for executives, business leaders, and IT management to communicate the impact of architecture practices.                                                       
  • Coordinates with architects and other stakeholders to facilitate ongoing process improvement in the use of EA’s technology standards.                                                 
  • Assists in the development and establishment of architectural best practices that guide the design of technology solutions.                                                            ”                                                     
  • Contributes to the development of the architecture strategy and technology direction by providing domain knowledge on solutions and technology.                                                   
  • Shares knowledge of current capability gaps, architectural gaps, and market and industry trends that can be used to set future direction.                                               ”                                                      

Minimum Qualifications                                                                          

Basic Qualifications:                                                                  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, CIS, Engineering, Business, or related technical field and Minimum six (6) years IT experience delivering technical solutions, including at least Minimum two (2) years working on projects related to IT architecture. Additional equivalent work experience of 3 years may be substituted for the degree requirement, for a total of 9 years experience.                                                   
  • Three (3) years SME experience with open source management, security and DevOps tools (e.g., Tidelift, SoftwareAG, API consumption and testing, Git, GitHub, Docker, Kubernetes, open source licensing, open source vulnurability remediation, open source contribution processes, open source package versioning, dependency management such as Maven or Gradle, programming languages such as Python or Java)
  • Two (2) years of work experience in a role requiring interaction with senior leadership (e.g., Director level and above)                                                         
  • Two (2) years experience establishing and documenting strategies, standards, guidelines, and best practices.                                                
  • Two (2) years of experience influencing enterprise scale decisions, and partnering with stakeholders in Fortune 500 or equivalent.                                               

Additional Requirements                                                                        

  • Experience translating user experience journies into supporting technology architecture.                                                                                                                                                                                          

Preferred Qualifications                                                                          

  • One (1) year supervisory experience.                                                   
  • One (1) year experience with modeling techniques (e.g.C4, BPM, UML, ER).                                        
  • Three (3) years experience translating solution requirements into technical architecture requirements.
  • Two (2) years experience with process improvement, process flow charting, and RPA                             
  • Three (3) years experience working in a large matrixed organization.                                                      
  • Two (2) years experience working with IT vendors.                                                         
  • Two (2) years experience architecting, designing, and implementing enterprise-scale, high volume, high availability systems.                                                
  • One (1) year of cross-domain IT architecture experience.                                             
  • One (1) year experience working with Enterprise Architecture frameworks, such as TOGAF or Zachman.       
  • Three (3) years experience working with an IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) framework.                             
  • One (1) year experience with commercial off-the-shelf package integration.                                         
  • One (1) year data architecture experience.                                                        
  • One (1) year application architecture experience.                                                           
  • One (1) year infrastructure architecture experience.                                                      
  • One (1) year information security experience.                                                  
  • One (1) year experience working with health systems.                                                  
  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, CIS, or related field.                             
  • Two (2) years experience working with emerging technology open source projects
