Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Java & React Developer to join our team in re-writing a customer-facing admin web application for our client’s SaaS platform. The SaaS platform is built using Java microservices in AWS, with a React front-end. The client provides a scrum master, UAT testers, and a product person. The team will work under the direction of a Technical Lead who will coordinate work, refine stories, and manage priorities and emerging requirements. All team members will contribute to the team’s velocity full-time, except the Technical Lead who will contribute part-time.
Main Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain the web application using Java, Spring Boot, React, and Next.js.
- Utilize AWS services, including RDS, EKS, and ECS, for application deployment and management.
- Participate in Agile story writing and planning processes by engaging in discussions and eliciting clarifying questions proactively.
- Execute tasks independently with minimal oversight, providing reliable updates and seeking clarifications when necessary.
- Attend and actively participate in all required meetings, stand-ups, and other commitments.
- Ensure timely completion of tasks as agreed upon with the team.
Requirements:
- Advanced proficiency in English.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in software development.
- Strong experience with Java and Spring Boot.
- Proficiency in front-end development using React and Next.js.
- Experience with containerization and orchestration tools such as EKS and Kubernetes.
- Experience with AWS services, particularly RDS and ECS.
- Ability to work full-time, long-term, with a work schedule aligned with US Central Time (8am – 5pm).
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to execute tasks independently.
- Excellent communication skills and reliability in meeting attendance and task completion.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience in Human Capital Management (HCM) industry.
- Familiarity with other AWS services and cloud-based architectures.
- Experience with Agile methodologies and story writing.
- Knowledge of microservices architecture and best practices.
