Job Description
This managing level employee is primarily responsible for running EA Portfolio and demand management, and managing a team of Enterprise Architects, project managers and communications specialists. They are responsible for guiding efforts to develop and maintain the enterprise IT technology direction, managing the program for development and maintenance of enterprise-level IT architecture, and providing guidance in the communication of EA to a large, matrixed organization. The individual is primarily responsible for managing EA Operations, encompassing architecture reviews from intake to creating disposition, demand management, project management, tracking, reporting, managing scrum and communications. The role involves streamlining, developing, and maintaining ongoing improvements by assessing, refining, and removing non-value-added tasks to enhance productivity and accelerate delivery. The individual will provide insights into enterprise architecture reviews, guide IT technology/standards evalutation adhereing to EA framework, manage the program for the development and maintenance of enterprise-level IT architecture, and oversee the communication of EA within a large, matrixed organization.
Essential Responsibilities
- Pursues professional growth and provides developmental opportunities for others by soliciting and acting on performance feedback for nearshore employees; building collaborative, cross-functional training and relationships; training and developing architecture talent for growth opportunities; delegating tasks and decisions; fostering open dialogue amongst team members; executing performance management guidelines and expectations; and working closely with nearshore manager to set goals and provide open feedback and coaching to drive performance improvement.
- Manages nearshore location work unit by translating business plans into tactical action items; ensuring all policies and procedures are followed; delegating tasks to meet goals and objectives; overseeing the completion of work assignments; aligning team efforts; building accountability for and measuring progress in achieving results; identifying and addressing improvement opportunities; removing obstacles that impact performance; and guiding performance and developing contingency plans accordingly.
- Manage, maintain, and enhance the departmental workflow tool to execute Architecture Reviews, Standards Assessments, and Governance processes. Continuously streamline and optimize these processes to ensure efficiency and effectiveness. Write-up the disposition/outcome of the architecture and standards assessment to share with enterprise wide audience.
- Collaborates with IT and business leadership and participates in making sound decisions regarding new technology and architecture.
- Collaborates with project teams and business users to create architecture artifacts (for example, logical, conceptual, physical) to guide detailed design.
- Reviews/Recommends/Creates architectures for large scale, high-impact, or high-cost technology solutions by collaborating with other architects to develop the target state.
- Directs efforts to develop and maintain the enterprise IT technology direction by ensuring technology direction is leveraged properly to develop target state architecture and drive decision making.
- Directs the development and execution of an architecture communication plan to influence stakeholders inside and outside IT on the benefits of architecture practices.
- Directs the development and management of strategic architectural direction.
- Directs the program for development and maintenance of enterprise-level IT architecture across the organization by shaping the architecture strategy within assigned nearshore location work unit’s domain(s).
- Ensures architectural change requests or exceptions are managed appropriately.
- Facilitates architects and business leaders in the definition of target state architectures aligned to technology direction across areas (for example, application, data, security, infrastructure)
- Champions and influences adoption of new high-impact technologies by researching technical trends and developments.
- Collaborates with stakeholders to determine the selection of new technologies and ongoing process improvement in the use of EA’s technology standards.
- Oversees the development of architecture designs in accordance with IT delivery processes and governance requirements.
- Oversees the process for defining, communicating, and implementing architecture standards, guidelines, and statements of direction.
- Partners with IT and business senior leadership to influence technology and business investments. Reviews and contributes to architecture standards or controls which allow business needs to be met.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, CIS, Engineering, Business, or related technical field and Minimum six (6) years IT experience delivering technical solutions, including at least Minimum two (2) years in IT architecture. Additional equivalent work experience of 3 years may be substituted for the degree requirement to a total of 11 years.
- Three (3) years in a technical management role with direct reports.
- Two (2) years of work experience in a role requiring interaction with senior leadership (e.g., Director level and above)
- Two (2) years experience establishing and documenting strategies, standards, guidelines, and best practices.
- Two (2) years of experience influencing enterprise scale decisions, and partnering with stakeholders in Fortune 500 or equivalent.

- Experience translating user experience journies into supporting technology architecture.
Preferred Qualifications
- Four (4) years experience architecting, designing, and implementing enterprise-scale, high volume, high availability systems.
- Two (2) years experience with modeling techniques (e.g.C4, BPM, UML, ER).
- Three (3) years experience translating solution requirements into technical architecture requirements.
- Two (2) years experience with process improvement, process flow charting, and RPA
- Four (4) years experience working with an IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) framework.
- Two (2) years managing operating budgets and/or project financials.
- One (1) year experience overseeing vendor relationships.
- Two (2) years application architecture experience.
- Two (2) years data architecture experience.
- Two (2) years experience with commercial off-the-shelf package integration.
- Two (2) years experience working with Enterprise Architecture frameworks, such as TOGAF or Zachman.
- Two (2) years experience working with health systems.
- Two (2) years information security experience.
- Two (2) years infrastructure architecture experience.
- Two (2) years of cross-domain IT architecture experience.
- Two (2) years of AI & MLOps experience
- Master’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, CIS, or related field.
