Job Description
We are in search of a Network and Telecommunications Engineer to provide support for our technological platform, which has been expanding and strengthening due to new service incorporations in the area.
JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Assist in the planning, installation, and maintenance of new networks or network components.
- Manage second-level support for all activities related to local and/or departmental network failures that cannot be handled at the help desk and may be supervised by the Network and Telecommunications Coordinator or the Infrastructure Manager.
- Maintain and support the operating systems of network components, including updates and patching.
- Manage the internal and external network security through firewall management, access control, permissions, password protection, etc.
- Implement, monitor, and maintain an intrusion detection system and ensure no disruptions for legitimate network users.
- Identify security risks that resources, facilities, and IT services may be exposed to and propose remediation plans.
- Analyze and evaluate risks. Implement procedures and other controls for event detection and incident response.
- Manage CCTV systems.
REQUIRED TECHNICAL AND SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE:
- Proficiency in technological security products (Antivirus, Antispam, Antispyware, IDS mechanisms, IPS mechanisms) including Firewall programming and access route configurations in Switches.
- Management of computer equipment, data servers, UPS, racks, regulated power, switches, routers, hubs, structured cabling, among others.
- Windows platforms for Servers and Workstations, Exchange Server, etc.
- Telecommunications and security equipment, such as Switches, Routers, Firewalls, and load balancers. Knowledge of ITIL V4, Cobit, PMBOK, Scrum frameworks.
- Knowledge of other operating systems: Windows Desktop and Servers, Linux, and its different versions.
- Configuration and installation knowledge of Hardware.
- Strong knowledge of Telecommunications: configuration of routers, switches, and telecommunications management equipment.
- Knowledge of Enterprise-grade Wireless Controllers and Access Points.
- Knowledge of Information Backup Tools.
- CCTV systems administration.
OTHER JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- University degree in the area of systems.
- 5 years of experience in the field.
- Must possess a driver’s license.
- Availability to travel within the country.
