Job Description

As a Senior Mobile Engineer at Function Health, you will play a crucial role in the development and optimization of our mobile applications, which are essential to improving user experiences and delivering innovative health technology solutions. Your expertise in mobile development will support our goals of enhancing app functionality and ensuring high performance.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of our mobile applications with a focus on performance, scalability, and security.
  • Support collaborative efforts across engineering, design, marketing, and operations teams to ensure aligned progress.
  • Assist in managing the delivery of key mobile app projects, including UI/UX enhancements and new feature rollouts.
  • Stay updated on new mobile app development trends and technologies, applying this knowledge to suggest and implement improvements.
  • Provide mentorship to less experienced team members, promoting a culture of learning and growth.

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of software engineering experience, with 4+ years in mobile app development.
  • Strong background in mobile application development, with a portfolio of past projects.
  • Advanced proficiency in mobile programming languages such as Swift (iOS), Kotlin (Android), or React Native (cross-platform).
  • Experience with mobile app development frameworks and tools, with an understanding of the full mobile development lifecycle.
  • Ability to integrate various cloud services and backend infrastructure into mobile applications.
  • Excellent analytical skills and proven ability to tackle complex problems.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience in architecting systems designed to operate efficiently at a large scale.
  • Proficiency in managing and analyzing large datasets.
  • Comfortable working in teams of 0-100.
  • Experience in startups, especially as a founder or early engineering hire.
  • Familiarity with health technologies such as Oura, Whoop, Apple Watch, and Continuous Glucose Monitors (CGMs).
