Job Description

We’re on a mission to hire the very best and are committed to creating exceptional employee experiences where everyone is respected and has access to equal opportunity. We realize the greatest contributions to the company can come from anywhere in the organization, and we know that the next one could be yours!

Whats unique about this job (What you’ll do)

  • Our data engineering capability is at the heart of how we scale, automate, and transform the member experience across 13 countries. From integrating APIs to building robust data warehouses in the cloud, this role plays a key part in shaping the digital backbone of our organization.
  • As a Data Engineer, you’ll design and maintain scalable pipelines and automation workflows that connect our systems, simplify our operations, and help us make faster, better-informed decisions. You’ll collaborate across automation, product, and infrastructure teams to deliver trusted, high-quality data at the speed of the business.
  • This role will support the successful deployment of Workday by managing the data lifecycle for inbound and outbound integrations via Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB). The Data Engineer will be responsible for preparing data templates, transforming and cleansing complex datasets, validating data accuracy, and coordinating with HR and IT teams to ensure successful data loads during the implementation and stabilization phases.
  • If you thrive at the intersection of engineering, automation, and problem-solving—this is your opportunity to build with purpose.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and validate structured EIB templates for core HCM, Compensation, Benefits, Recruiting, Talent, and Learning data
  • Analyze and transform raw source data into Workday-compatible formats, using Excel (advanced formulas, Power Query), Google Sheets, or other transformation tools.
  • Work with functional leads and SMEs to gather, cleanse, and validate historical and current employee data.
  • Run audit checks to identify data inconsistencies, duplicates, or formatting errors before submission.
  • Collaborate with Workday integration developers and implementation partners (e.g., Invisors) to meet delivery timelines.
  • Support test cycles by reviewing error logs, identifying root causes, and coordinating corrections.
  • Assist with documentation of mapping rules, naming conventions, field-level requirements, and validation rules.
  • Maintain version control of EIB templates and change logs across cycles and go-lives.
  • Design and maintain automated data pipelines using Python, SQL, and JavaScript
  • Develop process automation and integration workflows across APIs (REST/SOAP)
  • Model and optimize relational databases (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL)
  • Build and maintain cloud data warehouse structures using Snowflake
  • Apply data warehousing principles (Kimball or Inmon) to drive scalable data architecture
  • Leverage Git, CI/CD, and DataOps practices for versioning and continuous delivery
  • Implement robust solutions using Informatica IICS (Cloud Data Integration or App Integration)
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with developers, automation engineers, and business teams
  • Ensure data quality, security, and lineage in all engineering processes
  • Communicate clearly with both English- and Spanish-speaking stakeholders across the region.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bring 3–5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer, Software Developer, or Automation Engineer
  • Experience preparing or supporting Workday EIBs or similar enterprise system data loads.
  • Familiarity with common Workday data objects (e.g., Supervisory Org, Positions, Job Profiles, Compensation, Benefits).
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams in HR, Payroll, IT, or Benefits is preferred.
  • Fluent in Python, SQL, and at least one additional language (JavaScript or Java)
  • Strong experience building process automation or web-based applications
  • Know how to integrate APIs securely and efficiently (REST/SOAP)
  • Modeled and optimized relational databases in real-world environments
  • Understand how to design data warehouses using Kimball or Inmon frameworks
  • Comfortable using Git, setting up CI/CD pipelines, and managing cloud workflows
  • You’ve worked with Snowflake and Informatica IICS (CDI/CAI) in a production environment
  • Fluent in Spanish and English (verbal and written) and thrive in cross-functional, multicultural teams
  • Strong proficiency in Excel, including VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, INDEX-MATCH, pivot tables, and advanced formula logic.
  • Comfortable working with large datasets, ensuring data integrity, and managing sensitive employee information.
  • Proficiency in data validation, cleaning techniques, and iterative correction processes.
  • Exposure to XML structure is a plus but not required
